Circulatory System Disorder

Our circulatory system consists of arteries and veins. The cardiac output is around 4-6 liters per minute. This means that 5 liters of oxygenated blood is pumped, after the oxygen is left in the tissues, 5 liters of blood has to return to the heart through the veins. Since half of the circulatory system is the vein system, a disease here will cause circulatory disorder.

Reasons

We can summarize vein-induced circulatory disorders that may occur in our legs under three main headings:

  • Venous disease: Venous diseases affecting 30-70% of the general population may occur due to dysfunction of the vein wall or valves. In addition to general symptoms such as pain, swelling, it is visually manifested by varicose veins and capillaries.
  • Thrombus formation: Blood clots are a very dangerous condition and they completely block the blood flow. They can occur in superficial veins as well as in deep veins and may cause life-threatening emboli.
  • May-Thurner syndrome: This syndrome is a pathology that causes the right abdominal main artery to apply pressure as it passes over the right vein, and as a result, circulatory disorder, clot and swelling in the legs.
