Consultation to Happiness
When you visit our clinic , you will be welcomed by our receptionists, where your first registration will be made. You will be asked for an identity card or insurance card, please remember to bring them. In addition, if you have previous examinations related to your varicose complaints, please bring them with you.
Following your meeting with me, your complaints will be heard and your follow-up form will be filled in, which will be updated by me in your each visit. During the examination, you will be asked to wear a dark blue examination gown and slippers will be provided for those who wish. Thus, it will be possible to examine your legs in detail both physical and doppler ultrasound. Following the examination, you will be informed by me in terms of examination findings, diagnosis and treatment options.
After the first examination, the photo of your legs will be taken and added to your file, so that we can follow the treatment process together. Your first visit will take an average of 45 minutes.
DOPPLER ULTRASOUND
Your veins in both legs will be examined and reported in detail by our experienced radiologists. This process will take about half an hour on average.
If your Doppler USG is within normal limits, but you are cosmetically disturbed by local varicose veins (spider and/or telangiectasia), you can:
- Sclerotherapy (liquid or foam)
- Laser
- Radiofrequency
- Veingogh
One or combinations of your options will be suggested.
If your Doppler USG revealed low grade venous insufficiency, meaning you do not require surgical intervention:
- Preventive medicine and patient education
- Medical treatment
- Compression stockings
One or combinations of your options will be suggested.
If your Doppler USG result includes pathology, but these findings require surgical intervention:
- Laser
- Radiofrequency
- Super Glue
- Classic Open Surgery
- Miniphlebectomy
- Compression therapy (Compression stockings)
One or combinations of your options will be suggested.
As a result, during this visit, I will explain a customized treatment plan for you and inform you in detail about the treatments needed. Your questions about your medical condition and planned treatment will be answered by me.
OPERATION
After the EVLT decision taken with you at your previous appointment, you are requested to be at the hospital we made an appointment on the day and time of the operation appointment. We ask you to pay attention to the 12-hour fasting and fluid restriction for your health and safety while coming to the hospital.
We would like to point out that your EVLT will not affect your daily life and work like classical varicose surgery or major surgical procedures. Upon your arrival at the hospital, your reception and hospitalization procedures will be carried out by our receptionists, who will greet you, after which you will be admitted to your room reserved for you. Although the EVLT procedure is performed in many centers, even in practice or polyclinic conditions, after your preparations are completed here, we, as Varicose Veins Center, carry out our interventions in operating room conditions in order to provide a safer and more sterile environment for our patients.
Although our anesthesia approach to our operations is the application of local anesthesia and sedation in almost all of our cases, our anesthesia method can be changed with the participation of the relevant I, our anesthesiologist and our patient, taking into account the general condition, medical history and especially the anxiety (fear) status of our individual patients. Our operation will last between 30-90 minutes on average, after applying elastic bandages and compression stockings to your legs, you will be taken from the operating room to your room in the service. After being observed in the service for a few hours, you will be discharged with recommendations, medications and compression stockings suitable for you and your disease, without any activity restrictions. In order to increase the success of the applied treatment, it will be requested to wear compression stockings for 20 days after the operation.
FIRST CONTROL AND FOLLOW-UP AFTER TREATMENT
If you are being followed with appropriate drug therapy, compression stockings and recommendations, which did not require surgical intervention following the first examination, your first control will be 3 months later. In this control, medications, your compatibility with compression stockings and the benefit you get from the treatment will be discussed and our roadmap will be determined. The most important point to remember is that the main purpose of medical treatment in patients with diagnosed venous insufficiency is to reduce the complaints of the patients, facilitate their daily lives and slow down the course of the disease. In other words, it is not possible to treat venous insufficiency with medical treatment. Sooner or later, a certain part of these patients will be candidates for surgery or will complete the rest of their lives with venous insufficiency. This is why; Patients diagnosed with venous insufficiency need life long regular follow-up.
